Muscat: The rise in producer prices was largely fuelled by an 8.9 percent surge in the mining and quarrying sector, driven by a 9.2 percent increase in crude oil and natural gas prices. However, prices for mineral ores dipped by 3.8 percent, while stone and sand saw a slight decrease of 0.6 percent.
In contrast, the manufacturing sector registered a 3.8 percent decline, primarily due to an 8.8 percent fall in the prices of other transportable goods. Despite this, prices for metal products, machinery, and equipment climbed 3.2 percent, while food, beverages, and textiles edged up by 0.7 percent.
