Muscat – The Centre confirmed that the Council of Ministers has issued a directive requiring all units of the state’s administrative apparatus, as well as public and private legal entities, civil institutions, and associations, to adhere to the regulations governing the use of Arabic.

The clarification reads as follows: “In light of what was circulated on social media platforms regarding the document regulating the use of the Arabic language, the Government Communication Center is pleased to confirm that the esteemed Council of Ministers recently directed all units of the state’s administrative apparatus, other public and private legal entities, and civil institutions and associations to adhere to the aforementioned regulations. This reinforces efforts to preserve the Arabic language as one of the most important components of national identity in the Sultanate of Oman.”
