Muscat: According to the latest report from the Statistical Center for the Cooperation Council for the Arab States of the Gulf, the combined market capitalization of Gulf financial markets stood at approximately $4.2 trillion by the end of 2024.
While this reflects the region’s continued economic strength, it also marks a 4.4% drop from the end of 2023. Despite the year-on-year decline, Gulf financial markets still account for about 3.5% of the total global financial market capitalization, underlining their relevance on the international stage.
The GCC Composite Index, which tracks the performance of stock exchanges across the Gulf Cooperation Council member states, posted a modest 0.7% growth.
