BEIJING: China will implement a new trial policy granting visa-free access to ordinary passport holders from four Gulf countries—Saudi Arabia, Oman, Kuwait, and Bahrain—for a period of one year, from June 9, 2025, to June 8, 2026. The initiative was announced by Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Mao Ning during a press briefing on Wednesday.
Under the new policy, nationals from these countries can travel to China for business, tourism, family visits, cultural exchanges, or transit purposes for up to 30 days without needing a visa.
With the United Arab Emirates and Qatar already enjoying reciprocal visa-free arrangements with China since 2018, this move extends visa-free access to all six Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) nations, mentioned Chinese foreign ministry spokesperson Mao Ning.

The spokesperson emphasized that China welcomes more visitors from the GCC region, encouraging spontaneous travel and strengthening bilateral ties.
