Muscat – The event marked the launch of Metro Hospital’s second branch in the Sultanate of Oman and the 15th facility within the Metro Group of Hospitals.

Founded in 1996 in India by Padma Vibhushan awardee Dr. Purshotam Lal, recipient of the Dr. B.C. Roy National Award, the Metro Group has grown into one of India’s premier healthcare providers. With a 27-year legacy of excellence, the group operates more than 15 branches across three countries, offering over 35 specialties and employing more than 600 doctors and 3,500 trained healthcare professionals.
Metro Hospitals is renowned for its super-specialty services in cardiology, oncology, organ transplant, gastroenterology, neurology, joint replacement, and general, laparoscopic, and gastrointestinal surgeries. The group is also recognised for setting world records and pioneering innovative treatment techniques, serving both Indian nationals and international patients.

During the event, His Excellency Waleed Al Malki, Member of Majlis Al Shura for Barka, extended his congratulations to the hospital and expressed full support for its mission in serving the Barka community.
Dr. Jasimul Haque, Joint Director of Metro Group, highlighted the success of Metro Premier Medical Center in Al Khoudh 6, and reaffirmed the group’s commitment to replicating the same standard of excellence in Barka. He thanked the Ministry of Health, Wali’s Office of Barka, Ministry of Labour, and Municipality of Barka for their cooperation and prompt support in reopening the previously closed hospital.

Dr. Haque further stated that a highly qualified and experienced team of doctors and paramedical professionals has been appointed at the Barka branch. New specialties and advanced medical facilities are being introduced, along with additional beds and equipment.

These services will be made available progressively, ensuring comprehensive healthcare delivery to the people of Barka.
