Muscat Stock Exchange slips 15 points amid trading value drop

The Muscat Stock Exchange (MSX) 30 index ended Tuesday’s session on a downward trend, closing at 4,361.33 points.

MUSCAT : The benchmark index shed 15.1 points compared to the last trading session, which had closed at 4,376.43 points. Trading activity also cooled off significantly, with the total value reaching RO 3.83 million—down by 36.1% from the previous session’s RO 5.99 million.

Despite the dip in trading value, the overall market value saw a marginal uptick of 0.050%, touching approximately RO 27.59 billion, according to the latest report from the Muscat Stock Exchange.

Foreign investor activity showed a sharp contrast, with non-Omani purchases standing at RO 278,000, making up 7.25% of the total trades. However, non-Omani sales were more prominent, amounting to RO 784,000 or 20.48%, leading to a net decrease in non-Omani investment by RO 506,000—reflecting a 13.23% pullback.
