Oman’s real estate transactions reach RO 572 million by March 2025, marking a 2.5% decline

The total value of real estate transactions in the Sultanate of Oman reached RO 572.7 million by the end of March 2025, registering a 2.5 percent decrease compared to the same period in 2024, which amounted to RO 587.5 million.

MUSCAT : Statistics issued by the National Centre for Statistics and Information showed that fees collected for all legal transactions amounted to RO 18.3 million, a 10.6 percent increase compared to RO 16.5 million by the end of March 2024.

The value of sale contracts also decreased by 11.4 percent, reaching RO 252,400,000 until the end of last March, compared to RO 284,900,000 during the same period last year. The number of sale contracts also decreased to 15,815, with a 6.3 percent decrease in the number of contracts compared to 16,877 sale contracts until the end of March 2024.

On the other hand, the traded value of mortgage contracts increased by 5.8 percent, recording RO 317,100,000 for 5,344 contracts, compared to RO 299,800,000 for 4,858 contracts by the end of March 2024.

As for swap contracts, 354 contracts, worth RO 3.2 million, were traded by the end of March 2025, compared to 383 contracts, worth RO 2.8 million, by the end of March 2024.

The number of real estate properties issued decreased by 3.1 percent, reaching 55,378 properties by the end of March 2025, compared to 57,167 properties during the same period in 2024.

The number of properties issued to citizens of the Gulf Cooperation Council countries also decreased by 13.3 percent, reaching 280 properties, compared to 323 properties during the same period last year.
