MUSCAT : Her Excellency Dr. Jokha bint Abdullah Al Shukaili revealed that the Authority’s work directly serves one million male and female students across the Sultanate, including 800,000 in school and 200,000 in higher education. This expansive mission includes monitoring and enhancing the performance of 34 higher education institutions—both public and private—as well as reviewing more than 800 academic programs.
The Authority’s oversight extends to over 1,729 schools across Oman’s governorates, a number expected to grow with upcoming national initiatives and school expansions. Dr. Al Shukaili also emphasized the development of a robust national qualifications system, with plans to register over 1,000 qualifications under the “National Qualifications” framework.
During her address at the OSHRM Leadership Conference, Dr. Al Shukaili highlighted that true leadership must create a sustainable impact, particularly in the education sector—described as “one of the most dangerous sectors for human capital” due to its pivotal role in shaping minds and re-engineering thought. She underscored that educational leaders are central to producing the future generation of capable human resource leaders.
