Muscat – The airline has attributed this extension to the route’s success and the growing demand for travel between the Sultanate of Oman and the Russian Federation.

The national carrier will operate three flights per week between Muscat and the Russian capital, Moscow, during the summer season – from May to the end of September. These flights will be added to the winter schedule, which includes up to six flights per week – from October to April.
During the summer schedule, flights between Muscat and Moscow will operate on Tuesdays and Saturdays during May and June, with a third flight on Thursdays to be added from July to the end of September.

These flights will be operated using narrow-body Boeing 737 aircraft, featuring Business and Economy Class.

His Excellency Eng. Said bin Hamoud Al Maawali, Minister of Transport, Communications and Information Technology and Chairman of Oman Air’s Board of Directors, said: “The launch of the summer flights marks the return of year-round operations to the Moscow route, strengthening Oman Air’s position in this strategically important market. It underscores the pivotal role played by the air route between Russia and the Sultanate of Oman in supporting tourism, trade and cultural exchange. The airline continues its efforts to invest in strategically important markets and contribute to national goals aimed at promoting global openness and economic diversification.”

Oman Air CEO Con Korfiatis explained that the Moscow station is one of the top-performing destinations on the airline’s network, and its year-round operation enables the company to meet growing demand during different seasons and reach a wider segment of passengers.

He added that this expansion enhances the airline’s guests’ connectivity options and supports its comprehensive network strategy by connecting Russia with various regions of the Middle East, Asia-Pacific, and Africa via its operational hub in Muscat, in addition to contributing positively to achieving the Sultanate of Oman’s tourism goals.
