MUSCAT : Muscat Municipality has urged residents to stop washing cars on streets and in front of homes, describing the practice as a negative behaviour with harmful environmental and health consequences.
The Municipality said stagnant water left after roadside car washing leads to foul odours, attracts insects, and spoils the aesthetic appearance of neighbourhoods. It also poses health risks by creating unhygienic conditions.
Authorities stressed the importance of using designated car wash facilities. “We call on everyone to comply with the proper places allocated for vehicle washing to protect the environment and safeguard public health,” the Municipality said in its statement.
