MUSCAT : The meeting, which took place at the headquarters of the British Foreign, Commonwealth, and Development Office in London, reaffirmed the strong and historic ties between Oman and the United Kingdom while exploring avenues to further deepen their bilateral cooperation.


Following the meeting, His Excellency Sayyid Badr Albusaidi expressed his pleasure in meeting the UK Foreign Secretary, stating, “We reaffirmed the deep and historic ties between Oman and the UK and explored avenues to further strengthen bilateral cooperation. Our discussions covered key regional developments and shared commitments to peace, security, and economic collaboration. Looking forward to advancing our partnership through concrete actions and continued engagement.”
The two ministers discussed the long-standing and strategic partnership between Oman and the United Kingdom, emphasizing the importance of continuing cooperation in various fields of mutual benefit. They also highlighted the significant role of the Omani-British Strategic Consultation Team in facilitating bilateral dialogue and collaboration.
On the political front, His Excellency Albusaidi and His Excellency Lammy exchanged views on a range of regional and international issues. Both sides stressed the importance of enhancing diplomacy, dialogue, and international cooperation to address current global challenges and achieve security and stability for all nations. The two leaders underscored the necessity of joint action in resolving crises, promoting peace, and fostering sustainable development through multilateral frameworks and effective partnerships.
The meeting was attended by His Excellency Badr bin Mohammed Al Mandhari, Ambassador of the Sultanate of Oman to the United Kingdom, and Her Excellency Dr. Lianne Saunders, the British Ambassador to the Sultanate of Oman, along with several other officials from both sides.
