MUSCAT: The ministry said checking an institution’s licence can help protect learners’ time, effort and financial investment in training.
According to the ministry, licensed training institutions operate under the supervision of the General Directorate of Private Training Institutions and are periodically evaluated against approved standards. Certificates issued by these institutions are accredited by the Ministry of Labour.
In contrast, unlicensed institutions offer training programmes or courses without obtaining an official licence from the competent authority. Such providers are not subject to periodic supervision or evaluation, and certificates they issue are not accredited or recognised by the Ministry of Labour.
The ministry therefore called on members of the public to check an institution’s licensing status before enrolling in any training programme.
