Muscat – Data released by the National Centre for Statistics and Information (NCSI) attributes this growth to a 3.6 percent rise in the total number of hotel guests, reaching 2,145,579 by the end of 2024, up from 2,071,169 in 2023.
Hotel occupancy rates also saw a positive growth of 2.1 percent during the same period.
The report also highlighted an increase in the number of Omani guests, which rose by 4.5 percent, totalling 804,291 guests by the end of December 2024. Gulf guests accounted for 198,535 of the total guest numbers. Additionally, other Arab guest arrivals reached 103,034, reflecting a 10.3 percent increase from the previous year.

European guests continued to play a significant role in Oman’s hospitality sector, with their numbers climbing by 4.3 percent to reach 539,470 guests. Similarly, guests from the Americas increased by 6.9 percent, totalling 61,751 visitors, while African guest numbers grew by 9.2 percent, reaching 12,742.
In terms of regional performance, Asian guests made up a large share, with 311,150 visitors, a 4.7 percent increase. However, Oceania saw a decline of 26.1 percent, with 33,052 guests.
