MUSCAT: The municipality advised consumers to check basic hygiene measures at food establishments, including the cleanliness of workers and cooking and serving utensils, as well as the proper use of gloves during food preparation.
Consumers should also ensure that food outlets are free from insects and unpleasant odours and that food is stored at appropriate temperatures.
Particular attention should be given to temperature-controlled foods such as dairy products and meat, the municipality said. The guidance recommends that consumers check whether workers are wearing clean uniforms, using gloves when preparing food, and handling food and utensils in a clean environment before making purchases.
