Muscat: Rasmus Bogg Wallin and Adne van Engelen formed the early breakaway before being reeled in with 40 kilometers to go. A new front group then emerged, featuring Max Kanter, Xabier Mikel Azparren, and Rayan Boulahoite, forcing the peloton into a frantic chase.
With the final 1-kilometer climb, Damien Howson launched a decisive attack, followed by Harper, Vine, and Ruben Guerreiro. However, sprint-focused teams neutralized the move inside the last kilometer.
In the end, Pluimers proved strongest in the reduced group sprint, securing a vital win for the Swiss team. Jenthe Biermans and Henok Mulubrhan rounded out the podium.
