New York: Czech star Katerina Siniakova and American Taylor Townsend lifted the US Open women’s doubles crown on Friday, overcoming a difficult opening set to secure a 5-7, 6-0, 6-2 victory over Ashlyn Krueger and Robin Montgomery at Arthur Ashe Stadium.
The victory handed Siniakova her 12th Grand Slam women’s doubles title and made her the first player to complete a career Grand Slam with two different partners. She had previously achieved the feat alongside fellow Czech Barbora Krejcikova.
It was also a landmark triumph for Townsend, who became the sixth active women’s player to complete a career Grand Slam in doubles.

Siniakova and Townsend had endured a shaky opening set but found another gear in the second. After trailing 40-30 in the opening game, the pair won 23 of the next 27 points, racing through the set 6-0 to force a decider.
They carried that momentum into the final set, consolidating an early break as Siniakova held serve to love for a 3-1 lead. Townsend then produced a flawless service game to move the pair 4-2 ahead, putting them firmly on course for the title.
The US Open trophy completes an impressive sweep of all four majors for the partnership. Siniakova and Townsend previously won Wimbledon in 2024, the Australian Open in 2025 and the French Open in 2026.
