Muscat: Held at Khabat Al Qadan in the Wilayat of Nakhal, the forum aims to position South Al Batinah as a premier tourist destination, attracting visitors from across Oman and beyond with its diverse cultural and sporting events.

Unveiled at a press conference at Barcelo Resort, Al Musannah, attended by dignitaries and media representatives, the forum will feature signature competitions such as traditional shooting in Al Awabi and marine events in Al Musannah. These activities mark a dynamic opening to a month-long showcase of South Al Batinah’s cultural wealth and natural beauty.

The sporting lineup includes adrenaline-pumping modified car races on sandy terrains and sand biking adventures. Equestrian enthusiasts can enjoy horse and camel competitions steeped in Omani tradition, while paragliding will offer breathtaking views of the region’s landscapes. Complementing these are vibrant beach games and a heritage village, where visitors can explore traditional Omani life and crafts.

For entertainment, daily public concerts, circus performances, and magic shows will bring the forum to life alongside modern attractions like electronic games, virtual reality platforms, and dazzling laser displays. A promotional exhibition will spotlight the governorate’s accomplishments and promote local enterprises.

His Excellency Eng. Masoud bin Saeed Al Hashimi, Governor of South Al Batinah, emphasized the forum’s transformative vision, stating that these events are an integrated platform to revive heritage, support local sectors, and enhance tourism’s role in sustainable development.

The forum will also launch a smartphone app, “Mujab,” to streamline access to the governorate’s e-services and provide updates on forum activities.
