Ambassador of Bahrain to Oman highlights key milestones before national day celebrations

BAHRAIN: The Kingdom of Bahrain will celebrate its national holidays on December 16 and 17, commemorating the anniversary of the establishment of the modern Bahraini state in 1783, the 53rd anniversary of its accession to the United Nations, and the 25th anniversary of King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa assuming the throne.

This year’s celebrations come as Bahrain reflects on its remarkable achievements in sustainable development, economic growth, and global influence. His Excellency Dr. Juma bin Ahmed Al Kaabi, Bahrain’s Ambassador to Oman, noted that the national holidays highlight the country’s historic rise and its commitment to modernization under the leadership of King Hamad.

He highlighted Bahrain’s substantial progress in economic diversification, including a 9% increase in foreign direct investment in 2024, and its leadership in the Financial, Trade, and Investment Freedom Index in the Middle East.

Beyond economic achievements, His Excellency also emphasized Bahrain’s continued commitment to global peace, underscoring the country’s active role in supporting Palestinian causes and its efforts to secure a non-permanent seat on the UN Security Council.

With the 2024 Gulf Tourism Capital title awarded to Manama, Bahrain is also poised to enhance its tourism sector, making significant contributions to regional development through inter-GCC tourism.

His Excellency pointed out that Manama Tourism’s events throughout the year 2024 constitute an opportunity to highlight the Kingdom’s achievements in promoting tourism and the tourism sector at the local and regional levels. This will align with the objectives and pillars of the Kingdom of Bahrain’s Tourism Strategy 2022-2026 in diversifying the tourism product, enhancing the Kingdom’s position as an ideal tourist destination, and increasing the sector’s contribution to the GDP while increasing target markets.

His Excellency expressed hope that the future stage will witness further development and prosperity in all development fields, i order to achieve the lofty visions and directives of His Majesty the King of the Kingdom of Bahrain, in line with the goals of the Economic Vision 2030.
