LONDON: British news publisher ‘The Guardian’ said it will no longer publish its content on X, formerly known as Twitter, citing billionaire owner Elon Musk’s influence during the US presidential election process.
Calling X a “toxic” platform, Guardian said the social media channel promotes disturbing content including “far-right conspiracy theories and racism.”
“US presidential election campaign served only to underline what we have considered for a long time: that X is a toxic media platform and that its owner, Elon Musk, has been able to use its influence to shape political discourse,” Guardian said in the statement.
