MUSCAT : This initiative is part of ongoing efforts to further develop the civil aviation sector in Oman and position the Sultanate as a key regional hub for the aviation industry.
The MRO facility project, slated for completion by mid-2025, will feature state-of-the-art infrastructure capable of servicing a wide range of aircraft, including the A380, one of the world’s largest passenger planes.
With international air traffic on the rise, particularly following the recovery from the COVID-19 pandemic, this facility is expected to cater to the growing global demand for aircraft maintenance services.
Oman’s strategic location between Asia, Africa, and Europe offers a unique advantage, and the CAA aims to leverage this geographical position to transform Oman into a major regional centre for aircraft maintenance in the Middle East. The new facility is expected to attract global aviation companies and support Oman’s broader economic diversification goals.
The CAA has called on specialized companies to express interest in the operation and management of the MRO facility. Interested parties are invited to submit their expressions of interest by Wednesday, November 27, 2024, at 5 pm Muscat time (GMT+4). Companies can also inquire about the investment opportunity by email until Thursday, November 21, 2024.
Following the submission deadline, qualified companies will be invited to participate in a Request for Proposal (RFP) process, where they will submit detailed bids for the project. The CAA will use the submissions to select the best offers to manage and operate the MRO facility, aiming for a high-quality, efficient, and sustainable service that meets both local and international aviation needs.
