MUSCAT : This took place during the Ministry’s participation in the annual ISSN meeting in Tunisia.
By joining the ISSN network, the Ministry aims to learn from global experiences in using the International Standard Serial Number (ISSN) to support the marketing and dissemination of periodicals published in Oman and to enhance the publishing sector and cultural identity on the international scene.
The ISSN is a unique identifier assigned to serial publications, such as magazines, journals, and newspapers.
The annual ISSN meeting provided a platform for discussing the challenges faced by publishers in the digital age. Participants explored ways to improve business operations and facilitate access to information through the use of ISSN and the provision of updated data on new titles.
