MUSCAT : Oman’s Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion temporarily closed offending fuel stations after detecting 17 cases in which pumps dispensed less fuel than consumers paid for during an inspection campaign covering 90 stations along the route from Adam to Dhofar.
The inspections, conducted from August 1 to 21, 2026, identified 47 violations involving fuel dispensing accuracy and other technical and operational requirements, Shaima bint Khamis Al Balushi, of the ministry’s Standards and Metrology Inspection Department, said.
Speaking on Al Wisal, Al Balushi said stations breaching fuel dispensing requirements were ordered to close until the defects were corrected and ministry specialists verified the repairs.
