Beirut: The announcement comes in the wake of Israeli airstrikes that targeted the militant group’s intelligence headquarters in Dahiyeh, a suburb of southern Beirut, on October 3.
According to Hezbollah, Safieddine had been missing since the airstrikes, which aimed to dismantle an underground bunker where he was reportedly located. Israeli military officials had previously stated that their operations not only targeted Safieddine but also resulted in the death of Ali Hussein Hazima, the leader of Hezbollah’s intelligence branch.
This confirmation of Safieddine’s death marks a critical blow to Hezbollah, as he was seen as a key figure in the organization and potentially poised to lead it in the future.
