Muscat: Flight IX549 from Trivandrum to Muscat encountered a scare on Wednesday when smoke and an unusual odour were detected within the cabin shortly after the plane began moving on the runway. Passengers immediately raised the alarm, leading to chaos as many shouted for help. In response, officials quickly halted the flight and ensured the safe evacuation of all 148 onboard.
The flight, originally scheduled to take off at 8 a.m., had been delayed for two hours and was preparing to depart when the incident occurred. Emergency protocols were followed, and no injuries were reported.
