ABU DHABI: The Abu Dhabi Federal Court of Appeal has sentenced a British teacher to three years in prison for soliciting bribes from students at his school. Along with the prison term, the court imposed a fine of Dh5,000 and ordered his deportation after serving his sentence.

The teacher was found guilty of accepting bribes in exchange for altering exam results and unjustly raising students’ grades, which seriously threatens the integrity of the UAE’s education sector. The case came to light following a thorough investigation initiated by the Public Prosecution, which uncovered compelling evidence of the teacher’s misconduct.

This case is part of a broader crackdown by the Federal Public Prosecution, which is currently investigating multiple cases of cheating and examination system disruptions.
