Muscat – On July 11, 2024, Sampriti Anand earned her paragliding certification, marking a significant milestone in her journey that began with a family trip to Oman in 2019.

Sampriti’s fascination with flying was sparked during an Oman Air flight, where she was captivated by the stunning aerial views of Oman’s landscapes. Her parents, recognizing her passion, enrolled her in Sky Safari, a renowned paragliding school in Barka. Under the expert guidance of Muaadh Al Zadjali, a dedicated and experienced trainer, Sampriti’s skills flourished.

From her first steps on the training grounds, Sampriti’s enthusiasm and determination were evident. She learned to read wind currents, handle the glider, and prioritize safety. Her training progressed from ground exercises to tandem flights, building her confidence with each successful glide.

The culmination of her training came when Sampriti attempted her paragliding license. Under the watchful eyes of examiners from the Association of Paragliding Pilots and Instructors (APPI), she demonstrated her proficiency in launching, maneuvering, and landing. Her final test flight ended with cheers and applause as she successfully earned her license.

She not only earned her paragliding license but also carved her name in history as the youngest paragliding pilot in Oman.

Sampriti’s achievement is a testament to her dedication and the support of her family and mentor. She expressed her gratitude, saying, “I still clearly recall the first flight from India to Oman. Oman was my turning point, or I would say a key to my dream. The sensation of flight became a desire. My parents saw my excitement and helped me contact Sky Safari. Muaadh Al Zadjali, our captain, showed me the ropes and helped me understand the wonders of paragliding. I am sure with this I will continue to work hard to become a paragliding instructor and an airline pilot.”

As the youngest paragliding pilot in Oman, she continues to explore the skies, inspired by the beauty and freedom of flight. Her journey from a passenger to pilot is a testament to the power of inspiration and the boundless possibilities that await those who dare to dream and pursue their passions with unwavering determination.
