Muscat: According to the latest statistics by the National Center for Statistics and Information, the production of regular automobile fuel “91” declined 17.9%, contrasting with a noteworthy 12.7% increase in premium automobile fuel “95.” The production figures for “91” stood at approximately 1,184,200 barrels, while sales reached 1,175,900 barrels. In comparison, “95” automobile fuel production reached around 951,100 barrels, with sales hitting 993,000.
While diesel gas oil production declined by 26.1% to 2,101,700 barrels, sales figures were reported at 1,137,700 barrels. On the other hand, aviation fuel production surged by 39.7% to 1,077,800 barrels, with sales totalling 383,000 barrels. Liquefied petroleum gas production amounted to 672,800 barrels, while sales reached 808,000 barrels.
Shifting the focus to petrochemicals, gasoline production saw a 17.6% increase, totalling 13,500 metric tons, while paraxylene production witnessed a significant rise of 56.5%, reaching 55,300 metric tons. In contrast, polypropylene production decreased by 16.4% to 18,600 metric tons, although sales surged by 64.8%, reaching 2,700 metric tons.

Export statistics revealed a 14.6% increase in exports of “91” fuel, totalling 227,300 barrels, while no “95” fuel exports were recorded for January. Diesel gas oil exports amounted to 709,400 barrels, aviation fuel exports stood at 707,400 barrels, and liquefied petroleum gas exports reached 102,200 barrels. Paraxylene exports reached 60,400 metric tons, gasoline exports totalled 6,600 metric tons, and polypropylene exports amounted to 9,900 metric tons.
