MUSCAT : Companies seeking to register for Excise Tax are required to have the Customs Registration Number (CRN) issued by the Directorate General of Customs and the Import-Export License.
For registration of goods under Excise Tax, the Authority requires the following:
- Registration at the online portal
- Commercial Registry (CR)
- Submission of a request to add an excise good
Here is how to register for Excise Tax:
- Open the online portal
- Log in by using an ID card reader or Digital Certification (SIM card)
- Select Taxpayer Registration
- Enter the commercial registration number, and then click ‘Register’
- Select Registration Type and then Continue
- Fill all mandatory fields, Save Draft and Submit
- A request for confirmation will appear – click ‘Yes’
- Click Submit and then check the status for approval.
