MUSCAT : To be implemented at an investment of more than RO 520 million, the unit is expected to open during 2025.
The project will occupy an area of 160,000 square metres, and will produce high-quality metallic silicon with an annual capacity of 100,000 tons.
The production process involves pouring liquid metallic silicon from furnace into molds, cooling, casting, grinding and then packing the ore for global export.
The project reflects the Omani government’s keenness to encourage local investment and attract foreign investors, as part of the objectives of Oman Vision 2040.
