MUSCAT : In a strategic move to fortify local enterprises, Asyad Group has inked agreements with four Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) as part of its pioneering “Supplier Development” program. This initiative aims to bolster the infrastructure needed to nurture and amplify the role of these enterprises within the local economy.
The ‘Supplier Development’ program empowers current or budding local suppliers from SMEs. Its primary goal is to elevate its capabilities, fostering its active engagement in the logistics sector, innovative industries, and various areas of local value addition.
During the first half of the year, Asyad Group’s efforts to provide business opportunities for local suppliers amounted to more than 38 million Omani riyals. This included awarding over 5,000 contracts and purchase orders, with over 2,000 benefiting SMEs holding a Riyada card, surpassing a value of 10 million Omani riyals and empowering over 600 small and medium enterprises. These endeavours have significantly stimulated diverse local economic activities across various sectors.
