Royal Oman Police celebrate World Customs Day

Under the patronage of Major General Assistant Inspector General of Police and Customs for Administrative and Financial Affairs, the Royal Oman Police celebrated World Customs Day today.

MUSCAT : The Royal Oman Police celebrated World Customs Day under the slogan ‘Nurturing the Next Generation: Promoting a Culture of Knowledge-sharing and Professional Pride in Customs’.


The ceremony was held at the headquarters of the General Administration of Customs in Muscat under the patronage of Major General Khalifa bin Ali Al Siyabi, Assistant Inspector General of Police and Customs for Administrative and Financial Affairs, in the presence of a number of their Excellencies and representatives of government agencies and the private sector related to customs work.


The ceremony began with a speech delivered by Brigadier Saeed bin Khamis Al Ghaithi, Director General of Customs, in which he explained that the Royal Oman Police, represented by the General Administration of Customs, continues the process of development and modernization in various aspects of customs work, alluding to a number of steps that the General Administration of Customs has implemented in order to facilitate customs procedures and trade.


Major General Assistant Inspector General of Police and Customs for Administrative and Financial Affairs honoured officers of the General Administration of Customs; he also honoured Muscat International Airport as the best customs port for the year 2022, and the General Directorate of Criminal Investigation and Investigation as the best military entity associated with the Bayan system; the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Water Resources as the best entity from the sector.

Best customs clearance institution and the best customs clearance representative for the year 2022 were also honoured, in addition to certificates to a number of companies operating in the field of import and export.
