MUSCAT: With Sony already announcing the speculated release of PlayStation 6, it is an exciting time for House PlayStation. On the other hand, the current lineup of PS exclusives has taken center stage and is ruling the gaming world (looking at you, God of War: Ragnarok), with fans waiting eagerly for what the console has to offer next.
Following the success of Marvel’s Spider-Man, which did equally well on both its original PS4 release and the release of its remastered version on PC, and Spider-Man: Miles Morales, fans would not be wrong to expect more of power-packed superhero exclusives for PS5 from the house of Insomniac Games. And as fans expected, so has IG delivered. This year’s PlayStation Showcase event promised fans an array of exciting upcoming titles, with two that have got Marvel fans excited in anticipation.
Marvel’s Spider-Man 2
With the huge success of the first entry in the series, fans were hoping Insomniac Games would take this franchise further and were gifted with Spider-Man: Miles Morales. It is noteworthy that both the games generated global hype similar to that of the release of MCU films and the games delivered an experience akin to their silver-screen counterparts.

Miles Morales ended with Peter and his protege teaming up to fight evil, and the upcoming title in the series builds on that premise, adding an iconic villain. Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 will have the two web crawlers fight the infamous anti-hero alien symbiote, Venom. From the teaser shared at this year’s PS Showcase event, Venom looks absolutely menacing, thanks to further improved graphics and the franchise’s trademark stunning visuals. While it is not shown in the trailers, fans can also perhaps expect Green Goblin to finally make an appearance, a character who has been teased in the post-credits sequence of both Marvel’s Spider-Man and Spider-Man: Miles Morales.
However, both Sony Interactive and Insomniac Games are yet to announce a release date for this much-anticipated title.
Marvel’s Wolverine
The hype surrounding this iconic adamantium-infused mutant has been really high lately, thanks to Ryan Reynold’s announcement that Hugh Jackman will be reprising his role as Wolverine in Deadpool 3, which also happens to be Deadpool’s MCU debut. This upcoming title seems to be Insomniac Games’ answer to that hype.
With a completely unexpected trailer that caught fans off-guard, Marvel’s Wolverine has already generated insurmountable hype surrounding it. While Insomniac Games has not announced a release date, fans will probably understand if it takes a while, given the studio is working on two huge games simultaneously.
