MUSCAT: The Consumer Protection Authority in Oman has issued a statement regarding the claims circulating on social about a fish-selling company which has been defrauding customers by raising the price and imposing value-added tax (VAT).
The authority has stated that it has looked into this matter and has been following up the company. After the investigation conducted by the authorities, it was found that there are two prices for the same type of fish, which is sold by the grain and by the kilo after cleaning.
It was also realised that the company does not impose tax, and does not charge any additional cost other than the price advertised in the store.
