MUSCAT: The Ministry of Finance has organised a workshop on controlling the financial performance of the state’s general budget via video conference, with the participation of representatives of a number of government units.
The seminar aimed to clarify the mechanism of the initiative to control financial performance to ensure that all government units and agencies adhere to the approved budget in order to achieve efficient implementation of the state’s general budget for the fiscal year 2022 and its economic and social objectives.
The seminar reviewed the procedures for controlling financial performance and the challenges faced by the commitment to implement the state’s general budget during the past years, and ways to improve and develop mechanisms for controlling the financial performance of the state’s general budget for 2022.

The Ministry of Finance urged government units and agencies to submit a statement to distribute cash flow to the approved budget on a monthly basis. In addition to reviewing the unit’s monthly financial performance and making comments about it, the ministry stressed the importance of commitment and sending monthly reports and notes to ensure the achievement of the state’s general budget in accordance with the controls and foundations on which it was built during this year.
