MUSCAT: Employees working in government sector will be reduced to 50 per cent following rise in coronavirus cases in the country, starting from Sunday, January 23, Oman’s Supreme Committee has announced on Friday.
“Provided that the employees who are asked not to come to the workplaces must perform the work entrusted to them by the remote work system. The decision will last for two weeks,” the committee said in the decision.
The committee also decided to suspend Friday prayers in mosques but instead continue to perform the five daily prayers provided that the number of worshippers does not exceed 50% of the capacity.
