MUSCAT : Council of Ministers has agreed to extend the disbursement of the job security benefit and the monthly subsidy for the termination of their services from Omanis working within the Sultanate of Oman and the countries of the Gulf Cooperation Council.
The statement read, “In the context of its review of the proposals submitted by the Public Authority for Social Insurance and the competent authorities regarding the conditions of the private sector and the national workforce, it has agreed Honorable Council on the following:
Extending the period for disbursing the job security benefit mentioned in Article (13) of the job security system for applications that meet the conditions stipulated in the mentioned system, and allowing applications that are late for the period specified for accepting the application until the end of June 2022 AD.

“And extending the monthly subsidy payment to those who terminated their services from Omanis working in the countries of the Cooperation Council for the Arab States of the Gulf in the private civil-military sectors whose services were terminated from March 2020 and did not join work until May 25, 2021 CE, so that the monthly subsidy payment for this category continues until the end of June 2022 CE,” the statement read.
“Disbursing a monthly subsidy to those whose services are terminated from Omanis working in the civil/military/private GCC states whose services were terminated from the date of May 26, 2021 and did not join work until the end of the year 2021 AD in accordance with the conditions established for entitlement to the aid for the first time, and it is paid from the date of submitting the application until the end of the application June 2022 AD,” was mentioned in the statement released on Wednesday.
“Postponing the application of the text of Article (12) of the job security system, which included the necessity that the subscription period should not be less than (12) months, due to the benefit being due in November 2021 AD, so that the text of the article will be implemented as of November 1, 2022 AD.”
