MUSCAT: The Oman Football Association on Tuesday announced that all first-class matches will be held in sports complexes instead of club stadiums.

The decision was taken to ensure the presence of equipped ambulances and qualified crews to deal with any emergency cases.

The federation will be providing ambulance crews in accordance with safety and security standards for players and for all parties to the game is one of the topics that occupy the hierarchy of its priorities and its affiliated sports clubs, and it is also one of the basic national and international requirements for holding football competitions in safe conditions.

OFA stressed that this procedure is a precautionary and temporary measure until appropriate solutions are found to provide this service in all sports club stadiums, in coordination with all concerned authorities.

The Oman Football Association also confirmed that work will be done on the gradual coverage of the competitions for the age group in accordance with the criteria and procedures referred to above, and coordination with the concerned authorities will also be carried out to organise and intensify training courses for paramedics and medical staff working in sports clubs and raise their efficiency to optimally perform the roles assigned to them.
