Royal Navy of Oman member dies, another injured during naval exercise

MUSCAT: A member of the Royal Navy of Oman died while performing duty on board one of the ships during a joint naval exercise with Pakistan Navy, Oman News Agency reported on Monday.

In a statement issued, ONA said Rear Admiral Ali bin Abdul Rahman Al Balushi died “while performing his patriotic duty on board one of the ships of the Royal Navy of Oman, which is currently participating with the Pakistan Navy in the joint naval exercise.”

Meanwhile, another member Deputy CPL Sultan bin Salem Al Sulaitni was also injured during the exercise and “was subsequently transferred to a military hospital in Karachi to receive medical care and the necessary specialized treatment,” ONA said.
