MUSCAT: Muscat Municipality is making a great effort to deal with the effects of tropical cyclone Shaheen by cleaning the dusty roads and disposing waste and open the paths for the accumulated water to flow.
In a statement issued, Municipality said efforts are underway in Muttrah and other parts of Muscat to clean the roads.
Cyclone Shaheen made landfall in Musannah and Suwaiq bringing torrential rains and flooding wadis. While the storm has been downgraded to tropical depression, Oman Met in its latest weather report stated: “it will continue to affect the governorates of Al Dhahirah, North Al Batinah, South Al Batinah, Al Buraimi and Al Dakhiliyah with heavy rainfall (70 to 200 mm) leading to flooding of the valleys with moderate to brisk winds.”
