“He was always sincere to the company he worked and even if you call him late night, he will never complain but instead turn up for the shoot. He was an exemplary team leader and the way he managed his team was really commendable. He used to have differences of opinion with his teammates on various front but he was always a team leader,” Mohammed Ali recalled.
Award-winning photographer A.R. Rajkumar who had worked with Jun in Times of Oman said: “Jun was well respected and well know in Muscat. He had contacts with many people including Ministers in Oman. When I received the SND award for photography, Jun pushed me to become a full-time photographer for Times. He used to take me wherever he used to go. There was so much I learnt from him. His dedication cannot be described in just few words. There were days when he used to spend his time in hospitals, but his health issues didn’t stop him from working. He used to pick-up his camera and made sure he got the pictures on time.”
Oman TV presenter Khamis Al Balushi paid tributes to Jun. “He was always seen smiling at all events I met him. Very dedicated to his profession. Jun will be missed,” Al Balushi said.
For Mohammed Ali, Jun Estrada’s demise is a tragic loss to the profession. “The speed in which he worked was never matched by anyone. He used to always stand for the rights of his team. He uses to erupt like a volcano during arguments connected to work and he used to be peaceful like sea soon after. He never took issues personal. We will dearly miss him. His death will be a tragic loss to the profession,” Mohammed Ali added.
