MUSCAT: The latest weather charts and analysis of the National Multi Hazards Early Warning Centre show that an upper air trough will affect the Sultanate starting from Wednesday, July 21 until July 24 causing advection of clouds with chances of rain and thunderstorms associated with fresh downdraft winds, hail and flow of wadis over the most of the country.

According to the statement, heavy rains are expected lash over the Governorate of North Al Sharqiyah and South Al Sharqiyah (20 -40 mm in 24 hours ) on Wednesday and Friday.

“Sea state will continue to be rough along Arabian Sea coasts with white ranging from 3.0 to 4.0, whereas along Oman sea coast it will be moderate with maximum wave height of 2.0 meters,” Oman Met said in the statement.

“The Civil Aviation Authority advises public to take precautions during thundershowers, flow of wadisand unstable sea state and to follow its latest weather bulletins and reports,” the statement added.
