MUSCAT: All medical workers in both public and private health sectors are exempted from the mandatory institutional quarantine in Oman, the country’s Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) said on Friday.

According to close sources, Ministry of Health has issued a letter on July 14 to CAA to exempt the healthcare workers and their family members from institutional quarantine. However, they will have to adhere to home quarantine and must also wear the electronic tracking bracelet.

The Arabian Stories has learnt that all medical and medical assistance categories including all health-care providers working in the public and private health sectors such as doctors and nurses, labs and X- ray technicians, pharmacists and their family members “are exempted from the mandatory institutional quarantine upon arrival to the Sultanate, and shall adhere to home quarantine and to wear the electronic tracking bracelet,” CAA said.
