MUSCAT: The travel ban imposed by the Supreme Committee from April 24 are for inbound passengers coming from India, Pakistan and Bangladesh, while airlines can continue to operate to these three countries from Oman, a top Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) official informed The Arabian Stories.
“There are no restrictions on airlines taking passengers from Oman to India, Pakistan and Bangladesh. The travel ban is only for inbound passengers while departure flights and cargo flights will continue to operate between these countries,” the official clarified.
Meanwhile, transit passengers coming from India, Pakistan and Bangladesh are also not allowed to enter Oman unless they have been staying in other “green countries” for 14-days.

Due to the surge in coronavirus cases, the Supreme Committee suspended the entry of passengers coming from India, Pakistan and Bangladesh starting from April 24 at 6pm until further notice. CAA has already informed all operating airlines about the travel ban decision.
“Passengers coming to Oman due to the impacts of the global pandemic on public health in the Sultanate particularly amid confirmations that the mutated variants are linked to travel, thus the numbers of such infections have increased in the Sultanate causing adverse impacts on the health system and health workers,” the Supreme Committee said while announcing the decision of travel ban to India, Pakistan and Bangladesh.
