No advance salary for annual leave: Oman’s Ministry of Finance

Ministry of Finance says government employees cannot take advance salary for annual leave.

MUSCAT: Oman’s Ministry of Finance on Tuesday said it has decided to stop paying advance salaries to government sector employees for annual leave.

In a circular issued to all ministries and government units, Ministry of Finance said the decision was taken in light of activating e-salary transfer system. “In light of activating the electronic salary transfer system, the Ministry of Finance has instructed all Ministries and Government units to stop paying the salary in advance for annual leave. The system aims at accelerating and facilitating the transactions of salaries and other entitlements, as well as enhancing internal controls,” Ministry said in the statement.

“In coordination with all Ministries and Government units, the Ministry of Finance has successfully completed in last March the application of E-Banking for salary transfers .” the statement added.
