MUSCAT: The Royal Hospital on Monday issued a statement after an Omani citizen Ali Al Kindi alleged that a contradicting coronavirus result was issued to him by the hospital, while he was declared Covid free by a private medical centre in the country.

In a statement issued, the Royal Hospital while acknowledging the issue said: “A review has been made and evaluated for the examination that the citizen underwent in the hospital, and it was found that the result was negative from the examination device, but the result was entered by the duty technician by mistake.”

Royal Hospital said it has taken additional steps to avoid “this happening in the future and is in line with laboratory standards and the requirements of  quality systems ISO15189.”

The hospital also thanked Al Kindi for the feedback and confirmed that it will continue to study and evaluate all proposals, complaints and opinions it receives with full transparency, impartiality and credibility in order to reach better services.”
