MUSCAT : Guidelines for granting long-term residency to expat investors in Oman will be announced within two months, Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion (MOCIIP) said.
Last month, His Majesty Sultan Haitham Bin Tarik had approved the plan to offer long term visa status to expat investors as part of the economic stimulus package. “We are currently working on setting guidelines and this will be announced in two months time,” a senior official at MOCIIP informed The Arabian Stories.
The official also said proposals are in place to add more features to the already implemented Foreign Investment Law. “We expect that these measures will contribute to reviving the local market, stimulating small and medium enterprises. strengthening efforts to improve the business environment, attracting more Investments,” he added.
