Government plans new laws to curb hidden trade in Oman, says Minister

MUSCAT : The government is planning to implement a regulatory legislation this year to stop hidden trade in Oman, Minister of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion said on Sunday.

Speaking at the Ministry’s first annual press conference, His Excellency Qais Al Yusuf said the legislation will help curb hidden trade. “The working team that was formed last year to study the phenomenon of multiple commercial records has given several recommendations and after consulting with the Council of Ministers, the Ministry will implement a legislation to combat hidden trade,” the Minister informed.

The Minister also said ministry will also announce 50 investment opportunities in manufacturing worth OMR 200 million.
