MUSCAT: Oman Fisheries Company has won over OMR 140,000 towards compensation following a lawsuit filed in the Administrative Judiciary Court Appeal.

In a statement issued to Muscat Securities Market, Oman Fishers said: “Oman Fisheries Co. SAOG is pleased to announce to its shareholders the final outcome of the appeal filed in the Administrative Judiciary Court Appeal No SA- 855/20 regarding the compensation for the fish dumped in 2017.”

“The court ruled in the session dated 3/15/2021 to pay the sum amounting to OMR 141,288.024 (one hundred forty-one thousand two hundred eighty-eight  Omani Rials and twenty-four Baisas) to Oman Fisheries Company as compensation and the expenses for the lawsuit,” the statement from Oman Fisheries said.

“Since the Appeals Court is considered the last level of litigation , the judgement issued possesses the power of the adjudicate order and is not subject to appeal and further judgement,” the statement added.
