MUSCAT: More than 5,700 people have so far registered with the National Subsidy System (NSS) for electricity and water.
This comes after the government issued a decision to lift the subsidies on utility in a phased manner starting from January 1, 2021. However, those who have registered under NSS will continue to receive the subsidy.

- If the monthly family income is less than OMR 500, regardless of the number of family members.
- If the family income is OMR 750 or less and the number of family members is five or more.
- If the income is OMR 1,000 or less and the number of members is seven or more.
- If the income is OMR 1250 or less and the number of members is nine or more.
