MUSCAT: Citizens and residents have shown greater commitment in adhering to the lockdown regulations due to which the number of violations reported have dropped, the Royal Oman Police said on Tuesday.
“The number of lockdown violations reported in the country has dropped in the last three days. Citizens and residents are showing a conscious commitment in following the rules,” ROP said.
The movement ban begins daily at 7pm and ends at 6am until August 8. Through the closure of governorates and movement ban, the government is looking to reduce the coronavirus cases to 60 percent. We are beginning to see a drop in coronavirus cases. Such precautionary measures (movement ban) are taken to reduce infection rate to at least 60%,” said Said Al Abri, Director General of Diseases Surveillance & Control.

“If the cases reduce significantly during this lockdown period particularly during Eid Al Adha holidays, then we will see success in lockdown regulations,” Al Abri added.
